Trade Delegation Targets Energy and Investment in Suriname

An international trade mission will visit Suriname from June 16 to 22, 2025, aligning with the Suriname Energy, Oil & Gas Summit (SEOGS)—the region’s premier event for the energy sector. Organized by Ondernemershuis Paramaribo with partners in Suriname and the Netherlands, the mission focuses on advancing cross-border business in energy, innovation, and sustainable development.

SEOGS serves as the anchor of the trade mission, offering direct access to key stakeholders across the upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas value chain. The summit brings together policymakers, corporate leaders, and financiers from across the Caribbean and Latin America, positioning Suriname as a frontier market for energy investment.

The mission includes 15 participating companies from the Netherlands, Trinidad & Tobago, the UK, the US, and Venezuela. These firms operate in sectors critical to energy project execution and support services, including legal advisory, HRM, digital solutions, real estate, coatings, and private equity.

By converging around SEOGS, the trade mission provides an entry point for foreign firms to assess investment viability, form joint ventures, and access opportunities in Suriname’s emerging energy market. At the same time, local businesses benefit from exposure to global standards, technical partnerships, and sector-specific innovation.

A dedicated networking event on June 17 in Paramaribo will connect trade delegates with local enterprises and industry officials. With Suriname preparing for increased upstream activity, the mission underscores growing international interest in building out the country’s energy and industrial ecosystem.
