Hon. Susan Rodrigues
Honourable Susan Rodrigues is a Member of Parliament and currently serves as the Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce in the Government of Guyana. In this capacity, she plays a leading role in advancing Guyana’s economic diversification agenda by strengthening the tourism industry, fostering entrepreneurship, ensuring standards development, promoting small and medium-sized enterprises, and safeguarding consumer protection.
She provides strategic policy direction and oversight to several key national agencies, including the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA), the Guyana National Bureau of Standards (GNBS), the Competition and Consumer Affairs Commission (CCAC), and the Small Business Bureau (SBB). Minister Rodrigues is also focused on positioning Guyana as a premiere tourism destination while creating an enabling environment for both local and international investors.
Prior to her current appointment, she served as Minister within the Ministry of Housing and Water, where she was instrumental in the Government surpassing its ambitious target of distributing 50,000 house lots within five years. She also played a key role in the establishment of the Electronic Planning and Development Single Window System, a platform that streamlines construction application processes.
With a strong private sector background in construction and real estate, Minister Rodrigues brings practical business insight to her ministerial responsibilities. She holds a Bachelor of Law degree, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and is a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).
